OTTAWA – uedbet新版官网 has donated $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to aid Ontario and Quebec residents in the recovery from destructive tornadoes.

“These tornadoes remind us of the sheer power of nature but we also saw the power of generosity as people came together in the immediate aftermath to offer food and shelter to those who were impacted,” said uedbet新版官网 National President Jerry Dias. “As we now look towards long-term recovery, this donation will help provide the support needed for these families and communities to rebuild.”

On September 21, multiple tornadoes with wind speeds of up to 265 km/h struck in Ontario and Quebec destroying homes and causing wide-spread damage, particularly in the Ottawa area communities of Dunrobin and Arlington Woods and the Mont-Bleu neighbourhood in Gatineau, Quebec.

“From tornadoes to wildfires, the Red Cross is ready to offer vital assistance to communities that have been affected by disasters,” said Janet Johnson, Vice President, Philanthropy at the Canadian Red Cross. “Since tornadoes landed on Friday in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, the Red Cross has been on the ground providing essential aid to those who need it. Thanks to donations from generous Canadians and organizations like uedbet新版官网, we will be able to continue helping people in need.”

The $50,000 donation was contributed by uedbet新版官网’s Canadian Community Fund. The Canadian Red Cross has also set up a portal for individual uedbet新版官网 members to donate directly at www.redcross.ca/OGTornado/uedbet新版官网
